A Wonderful Journey

Whew. This day has been full! Worship planning, some administration for Collegiate, recording a Praying with Your Feet Podcast, being one of four panelists in a Town Hall with On Being and Odyssey Network about how faith leaders can hold faith communities post-election. I got to celebrate you all day long, and it made me feel good to tell our stories of resistance, advocacy, racial justice and voting reform work. I also shared how last week, we honored our Trans siblings and this Sunday, our Queer Black Men in the Middle are holding down worship at 11:45 a.m. ET!
Folks are so surprised by who we are, and delighted at the same time. They yearn for a loving, justice forward, multiethnic, antiracist, queer and straight place where just love is practiced; they think we are wonderful. We can only do that because of you. Thank you!!
Along with the above, your loving kindness is helping 150 East Village families receive a Thanksgiving Food Box, courtesy of the Lower East Side Girls Club and our partnership with them. If you need such a box, 25 are set aside for Middle families. RSVP to Erikka, erikka@girlsclub.org or text 917-536-0228 and reserve a box containing poultry and traditional thanksgiving fixins. Pick-up will be Tuesday, November 24, from 3-5 p.m. outside of the Girls Club 402 East 8th Street.
Along with celebrating QBMM on Sunday, we will raise a digital toast to Rev. Marlene who, sadly, resigned from her role as Executive Minister for Operations, Stewardship and Finance. (Her note to staff is below.) Come to Chat and Chewas we (briefly) honor her for these almost-six months on our team. Marlene promises to come back and worship with us. Marlene, thank you SO much for your joyful imprint on our community. We’ll miss you, and wish you only love and peace.
Love you all,
Jacqui
